Privacy policy
We cannot see your data, because we never receive it.
SLP Data is a website that runs entirely in your browser. This page explains, in plain language, what the site does and does not do with information.
What we collect
Nothing, unless you write to us. The site has no account system, asks for no name, email or school, and sets no cookies. There is no analytics script, no advertising and no third-party code of any kind on the page.
The contact form
The contact page is the one place on the site that sends anything to us, and only when you press Send. It carries the message you wrote, plus a name and an email address if you chose to give them. It travels over HTTPS to api.slpdata.org, a small server the maintainer runs. That server keeps it and sends it straight to the maintainer's private chat. It is never shared or added to any list. Please don't put student names in it; nothing you enter in the app is ever part of it.
Where your data lives
Students, goals, sessions and settings you enter are saved in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) on the device you are using. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. You can confirm this: turn off Wi-Fi and every tool keeps working. The verification page shows how to check in more detail.
What our hosting provider sees
The site and the app are plain files, delivered to your browser by Cloudflare, as with many websites. Cloudflare's standard request logs may record your IP address, the time and the page requested. Those logs never contain anything you type into the app, because the app never sends it. The app also runs on its own address, app.slpdata.org, which your browser keeps walled off from the rest of this site, so even the contact form cannot read it.
Security headers
The app's pages are delivered with a Content Security Policy that tells your browser to refuse any connection to a server other than the one the page came from. The website's pages allow one more, the contact form's server. This means the "never sent" promise is enforced by your browser, not just stated by us.
Backups you download
Backup and export files are created in your browser and saved to your device. Once downloaded they are ordinary files under your control. Treat them as you would any file with student information.
Children's data
The site is a tool for adults who work with students. It does not ask for birthdates or student ID numbers, and we recommend using a first name and last initial. Because we never receive the data, we are not a data processor for your school or district.
